Life’s challenges can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, disconnected, or stuck. I’m here to support you in moving toward greater clarity, resilience, connection, and hope. With over 12 yrs of experience, I see our work as a shared journey from well-worth paths to new paths leading where you want to go or come home to yourself. Maybe we will reacquaint you with your body in new, caring ways; maybe we will sit with deep or complex emotions until things begin to make sense; maybe you have clarity, but need someone to walk beside you to move forward. I’m here…healing is possible; hope is real; you are important.
Dayna’s Therapeutic Approach:
My approach blends thoughtful, deep exploration with lightness and humor – while also honoring your intuition and personal goals. Together, we’ll work to better understand your experiences, your self, and your unfolding life.
Empathetic Listening: Creating a space where you feel truly heard and understood, fostering self-acceptance and awareness.
Flexible Thinking & Experiments: Helping you shift perspectives and bravely practice new, healthier choices.
Recognizing Your Strengths: We’ll identify and build upon your innate resilience, empowering you to move forward.
Re-connecting with Your Body: Tuning into physical sensations, emotions, body cues, and wisdom from within yourself.
Relational Re-modeling: Supporting a renewing, safe emotional experience from which to feel secure and express new attachment bonds.
Body Image Expertise:
For twenty years, I have formally and informally researched body image distress and strengths. I have published an intervention that I designed in an American Counseling Association’s journal for teenage girls and researched the impact of various parts of spirituality on young adult and adult women’s body image. I have witnessed and experienced the impact of culture, community, and changes across the lifespan on our experience of our bodies as well. If your goal is to feel comfortably connected to your body; alive and present in it; less focused on it; simply to take better care of it alongside nutrition plans; or to just move from hatred to neutrality, I am here for it.
Integrating Your Faith of Spiritual Journey:
I have advanced training in the psychology of religion and spirituality, which allows me to thoughtfully integrate your faith or spiritual journey into our work. I also deeply honor and have experienced many ways that people make meaning and hold the Sacred in their lives. Whether you are a person of faith wanting that part of you to be part of your healing, someone exploring spirituality as a path within emotional healing, or a victim of religious abuse, you will find a safe space with a competent, capable understanding.
“I have been on both sides of this freeing, challenging, gentle process we call counseling. When you are ready, I am here to hold hope with you and invite you to feel more freedom in who you are – where you are- in the body that breathes for you.”
