Metabolic Testing Machine

After researching the best indirect calorimeter machines, KORR Medical Technologies stood out for its high accuracy and customer-friendly testing. We are offering metabolic testing using the ReeVue Indirect Calorimeter. Read more about ReeVue Indirect Calorimeter by KORR Medical Technologies.

This testing pinpoints the caloric intake required for weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain. It allows you to better understand your baseline energy requirements (Resting Energy Expenditure- REE) which make up for about 60-70% of total energy expenditure daily.

Combining advanced technology with our team of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN), we will help you gain control of your health and wellness to reach your full potential.

You can watch this short video to learn more about KORR’s technologies, benefits, and how the testing is administered.

How it Works

REEVUE is a direct oxygen measurement, calculating oxygen exhaled to calculate caloric burn. Using indirect calorimetry, the “gold standard” for metabolic rate, the chamber is able to accurately measure the ratio of oxygen consumption to exhalation, to analyze metabolism.

Benefits of Metabolic Testing

  • Establish a minimum number of calories your body needs to function at complete rest, without slowing down your metabolic rate.
  • Determine if your chronic dieting or history of significant weight fluctuations has influenced the efficiency of your body.
  • Better understand your total energy needs on a day of exercise compared to a rest and recovery day.
  • Eliminate use of standard calculations for estimated energy needs.
  • Faster physical results, including weight loss, gain, or body recomposition.

What To Expect

Preparing for your test:

This non-invasive test takes about 10-15 minutes. You’ll be asked to sit back, relax, and breathe. We will use a disposable MetaBreather mouthpiece, which uses a one-time value to measure inhalation and exhalation.

  • Avoid eating or drinking 4-5 hours before testing
  • Avoid exercise the day of testing
  • Avoid stimulants, such as caffeine, the day of testing (or at least 8 hours prior).
  • Avoid over-the-counter medications or dietary supplements the day of testing.
  • Wear comfortable clothes

Your Results

After completing the test, you will get a full report, calculating your total energy burn throughout the day. You can use this report to work with your Registered Dietitian and other healthcare providers to understand your metabolism better and create a customized treatment plan.
