Why is Allison a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist?

Allison has always loved science and had a passion for botany starting at a young age. Her first degree was in Biology where she enjoyed learning about all of the life sciences. As she progressed into her 20’s her passion for food and gardening grew and she loved learning about nutrients, micro and macro in all of the foods she ate. She decided to take a leap and enroll in an Applied Human Nutrition program.

How does Allison stay healthy?

Allison loves to keep busy listening to podcasts while walking her dog, running and lifting weights, and swimming to beat the Arizona heat. When not doing the above activities, you would find Allison in her garden. Allison is a mom to 3 boys, aged 4 and under. Some days don’t involve any structured physical activity; just keeping up with the boys is plenty!

What else should you know about Allison?

Allison is proudly Canadian, but has fallen in love with Arizona and all of the warm and friendly people that reside here. In her spare time Allison likes to learn about viticulture. She holds her WSET level 2 certification and plans to continue to obtain her level 3 certification whenever her busy homelife allows for it. Allison hopes that she can explore more of the valley’s beautiful trails and hike some more mountains with her children, husband, and energetic Shih Tzu.
